5 months already??

Well, almost. On the 29th, Evan will be 5 months old. What?? Where has the time gone? Where are all the pictures that I should have taken of him? It's not that he isn't cute enough for pictures, he really is. I'm just a little busier these days than when Drew or Dean were tiny. Poor little 4th baby.

Dean helped me take some pictures of his baby brother this afternoon. I think he's a pretty good photographer.

The Great Flood of '07

So, our water heater broke Friday night. 50 gallons of water all over is not all that fun. Thankfully, it only got a bit of carpet, just behind the couch and in the closet under the stairs and the little entry into the "basement" section of the downstairs. We sucked up as much as we could, but it was still pretty soggy Sunday morning when we left for church. Pie saw this monster fan that they use at youth dances just sitting on the stage and thought it would help out the drying process. He asked to borrow it. It's very loud, but the carpet is almost dry. Edie thinks it's fun, too.

The good news? We get a new water heater! Today! No more boiling water to wash dishes by hand and going over to Pay & Mary's to take a shower! Although we did feel a small connection to our pioneer ancestors, we'll be glad to have our modern convienences back.

Yosemite 2007

First, let me say that I forgot my camera on Friday, the day we went to Yosemite Valley and "hiked" all day and saw all the cool stuff. Bummer. My pictures are from the first evening's (Thurs) trek up to the waterfall by our cabin. And speaking of the cabin, Karin did a very good job with this assignment. Compared to what we stayed in last year, this place was palacial. Lodging should be Karin's responsibility every year.

A little light reading for Emily

Ali has encouraged all of us, in the spirit of Spring, to provide Emily with a love story to read while waiting for Jr. to arrive. Please remember that my memory is not the best. But here you go: How Pie and I Met.

My first day at UC Davis was a Sunday and I attended the student ward with my mom. Pie says he saw me that day and asked his friend about me. She encouraged him to find someone else because I was only 18 (he was almost 23). The next weekend was General Conference and everyone was gathering at this same friend's apartment to watch it together. I talked myself into going, usually I don't enjoy hanging out with people I don't really know. Pie was there, too. Later that night he called me up and asked me to go to a fireside with him. We spent lots of time together after that. A couple months later, I knew he was the one I was going to marry, and I was a little upset about it. After all, I hadn't even applied to BYU because I didn't want to get married young. It took a while for me to re-write my life plan in my head. Two years later, we were married in the San Diego Temple. Almost 10 years and 4 kids after that, we're still full of married bliss!

I wish I had stories for all the pictures, but I haven't heard them yet. I'll let you know what I find out.

Today's the Day!

Pie comes home tonight! YAY!

He's been gone for 10 days to Malaysia to visit his family. It's hard for Iranians to come to America these days, and I won't let Pie go to Iran, so every couple years, they pick a place in the world and meet up. Last time it was Switzerland. I went then and it was quite fun. This time, with a new baby, I stayed home.

I haven't talked to him, just a few short emails, but I guess he's had a great time. He even thought about extending his trip by a couple of days to add Singapore to the list of cities he visited, but he had trouble changing his plane ticket so he's returning on schedule.

He took the camera and promised lots of pictures. I'll post some in a few days.
