Just like Daddy

Last Tuesday

It's a strange genetic phenomenon. All my kids sleep like their daddy. Pie's most comfortable TV watching position is on the floor with his legs crossed in this weird way. I was amazed when Drew was little that he liked to sit like that, too. Then Dean came, and he soon discovered it (although I don't have photographic proof).

I thought maybe it would pass on Edie. After all, she is a girl and maybe she wouldn't get this weird trait the guys all have. But no. I took this picture of her a few days ago. It's about 11pm and she is as comfortable as can be with her hands behind her head, and her legs crossed.

Well, why not? They all have his flat feet and fun personality, too.

I like this picture of Katie and Dean, I think they both are really cute, but it looks like an engagement photo! Drew took the picture. I don't really have a story to go along with it. That's it. Just the picture.

Lucky

Lucky the Leprechaun visited our house last night. The boys woke up to find the sneaky little guy had made a big mess of green glittery stuff all over their room, and left a few treats, too.

We've never had a leprechaun at our house before, but last week in preschool, Dean made a magic wand (see photo #3) and his teacher said that if he used it, then a leprechaun would come to his house on St. Patrick's Day (Thanks a lot, Miss Cara!)



It turned out to be a very fun morning, even though we had to clean up that big mess!

On a slightly different note, I had a great morning, because of breakfast. My kids get Lucky Charms cereal once a year, on March 17th. They beg for it all the time, of course, but we usually stick with Cherrios and oatmeal and toast, things like that. A few years ago I started this little St. Patty's Day tradition, Drew loved it, and I was satisfied that they weren't totally deprived, but usually healthy.

This year, the boys were excited again for their special breakfast. But after eating all the marshmellows in his bowl, Dean said his tummy hurt and he didn't like Lucky Charms anymore. (hooray!) And after Drew had eaten about half of his, he said "I think I'm done. They look better on TV." (yippee!) I think I'll go throw away the rest of the box before Edie discovers them.

Baseball Prep

I'm learning a lot as a fairly-new baseball mom. This weekend, I learned that it is not easy to catch with a brand new glove. Baseball expert Pie showed Drew how to break it in. They wrapped it up nice 'n tight with a giant rubber band and then stuck it under his matress. Drew loves the idea of sleeping with his new glove! Soon the new glove will be "old" and Drew will catch like a pro!

Welcome to Chez Dean

Dean is such a great helper in the kitchen. I never have to make a meal by myself when he's around. He's an expert at washing fruits & veggies and mixing & tasting cookie dough. One of Dean's chores is setting the table for dinner. We haven't had one broken dish (we'll keep our fingers crossed!)
Things usually would go faster on my own, but how can I complain with this cute little guy wanting to help out?!
