Night of 1000 Stars
We went to the school dance last night. In years past it's been a sock hop and we were encouraged to wear 50s attire. They changed the theme last year to any decade and the costumes were great, particularly the 80s kids! This year the theme was "Night of 1000 Stars" and we were supposed to dress as any famous person. Good thing we have a fully-stocked costume box!
Drew and Dean wanted to be baseball players, Dean is Ichiro and Drew is Manny Ramirez. Edie, my sweet little girl, chose Darth Vader! And Evan was Superman, because that's what we had for the little guy.
Drew had to sell candy at the dance as part of his Student Council duties. Here he is with his other Council buddies: Barak Obama, Michael Phelps and Laura Ingalls.
As we were driving there, Drew said his goal was to start a conga line that was the longest in school history!
Dean and Drew both won a raffle prize! Excitement!
We just love our school and all the fun things they have for us to do!

(PS- If you're expecting Hawaii pictures, I decided just to put them up on my facebook page. You don't want to see them more than once!)

Ice Skating Field Trip
I have to admit, when I first found out that Edie's preschool teacher was planning an ice skating field trip, I was skeptical. Who takes 18 4-year-olds ice skating?? I should have had more faith in Miss Best-Preschool-Teacher-Ever. She knows what she's doing.
The kids loved it. Edie was a little nervous at first, but these handy dandy walkers were perfect for the kids shakey on skates.

And the snow pile was a big hit, too.

We were one of the last ones to leave, and I basically had to drag Edie off the ice so we wouldn't be late in picking up the boys from school. We've got to go back soon!
