Dean's Party

Dean was pretty upset when we told him that we wouldn't be trick-or-treating this year, Halloween being on a Sunday and all. So we told him he could invite some buddies over for a party on Saturday instead. He seemed excited about the compromise.

We spent some time planning and researching spooky food, because what's a Halloween party without spooky food?. We found everything we needed and more at this website: http://www.ourbestbites.com/
This is what Dean decided to serve:

Bones and Blood

Monster Mouths

Slimey Worms on a Bun (some of the boys didn't want to try these, hehehe!)

The party boys had a good time

Trunk or Treat Fun

I love the ward Halloween party. Every year it is just so fun. I love the food. (but I can only eat it if I know who made it. Anyone else like that?) I love that it is just-barely-controlled chaos. I love the kids in costumes. I love that the kids group themselves by costume, that the zombies run around together and the spidermans stick together, etc. This year I got a picture of the kids with their buddies.

The Bridge to Boy Scouts

Well, we missed the actual ceremony this summer when we were gone for Mike and Joanna's wedding. But Drew was able to cross over to 11 year old scouts in an impromptu one. He made the most of it, as you can see.
What a ham.
